Ich habe irgendwann, direkt nach meiner Rückkehr aus New York ein paar random Facts aufgeschrieben und die dann total vergessen. Heute habe ich sie wiedergefunden und schwälge ein bisschen in Erinnerungen. Habt ihr auch random Facts über New York? Lasst sie mich wissen!
Right after my New York trip I wrote down some random facts and then I totally forgot them. Today I found the facts and I can totally remember everything. Do yo also have any random facts about New York? share them with me!

New Yorker sind super hilfsbereit, egal ob eine ältere Frau in der Ubahn einen Platz braucht, oder man mal nicht weiß woher oder es so aussieht als würde jemand belästigt werden. Es kommen gleich von allen Seiten Leute angerannt um zu helfen.
New Yorkers are super helpful, whether an older woman in the subway needs a place, you do not know where you are or it looks as if someone was being harassed. people from all sides will come to help.

Vegetarische Gerichte gibt es nicht besonders viele, die Auswahl ist in der Regel echt überschaubar. Zumindest an den Orten, die ich so gefunden habe.
There isn’t many vegetarian stuff. New Yorkers seem to like meat a lot – at least at the places where was.

Man muss schnell essen in Restaurants. Alle 3 Sekunden kommt jemand angerannt und fragt, ob du schon fertig bist und dann bekommst du plötzlich unaufgefordert deine Rechnung.
You have to eat fast in restaurants. Every 3 seconds, someone comes running up and asks if you’re ready and then you get your bill even if you didn’t ask for it.

Eileen möchte, dass es in Schlangen nach Schönheit geht.
Eileen wants that it goes for beauty into queues.

Damit sich Leute umdrehen, lacht Mau gerne mal künstlich laut.
Thus, people turn around, Mau likes to laugh artificially loud.

Wenn ihr euch die Aussicht über New York anschauen wollt, dann geht auf jeden Fall auf den Top of the Rock. Nicht das Empire. So habt ihr auch noch eine tolle Aussicht auf den Central Park UND das Empire State Building.
When you want to have a view over New York, then in any case go to the Top of the Rock, not the Empire. So you have even a great view of Central Park AND the Empire State Building.

Armandine erzählt gerne spannende Geschichten, in denen Menschen unter Brücken herlaufen und das wars. Ihr Kurzgeschichten enden so abrubt, dass man einfach lachen muss.
Armandine likes to tell exciting stories where people go along under bridges and that’s it. Her short stories end so abrubt that you just have to laugh.

Mach mal Fotos mit deiner analogen Kamera und entwickel sie einfach ein halbes Jahr nicht. Ein Riesenspaß sich dann mitten im Winter die Ergebnisse anzusehen. Das hat mir soooo gut getan. Ich vermisse den Sommer so wahnsinnig. Ich will grillen, im Kanal schwimmen, in T-Shirt durch die Stadt streifen! Aber alles was mir gerade bleibt sind diese Erinnerungen an einen tollen Sommer mit tollen Menschen. Danke Lomo Fisheye und Holga!

Take a photo with your analog camera and don’t develope until half a year later. It is great fun to see the results in the middle of the winter. That helped me soooo much, I really miss the summer. I want to barbecue, swim in the canal, walk through the city in a t-shirt! But everything I have right now are those memories of a great summer with great people. Thank you Lomo Fisheye and Holga!

NY – LIKE A TOURIST #2

Ein bisschen New York habe ich noch zu zeigen. Ich war nach dem Marc Jacobs Event noch zwei Tage länger in New York und hatte ein bisschen Zeit für Touristen Kram. Lustigerweise waren gerade auch einige andere deutsche Blogger dort und ich musste nicht forever-alone-like durch New York schlendern.
Mit Eileen, Lena und Toko bin ich zum Times Square gelatscht, wir haben uns den Ground Zero angeschaut, waren im Financial District und sind mit der Staten Island Ferry gefahren für einen Wahnsinnsblick auf die Skyline. Und wäre Toko nicht eine kleine Zicke, die plötzlich unbedingt doch aufs Empire und nicht auf den Top of the Rock musste, wären wir auch dort noch gewesen. Auf dem Rockefeller Center war ich dann aber mit Amandine und Mauri. Danach waren wir noch in so einem typisch amerikanischen Steak-House, wo es nicht besonders viel vegetarisches Zeug gab (wer hätte es gedacht), aber der cheddar cheese grit war saulecker! Mit den dreien war immer Power-Tourismus angesagt – von Spot zu Spot hetzen, Essen im gehen (was mich sehr überfordert) und am besten gar keine Pause – mit Mauri und Amandine bin ich immer entspannt ohne Ziel durch die Gegend geschlendert – der perfekte Ausgleich also. Schön wars!

Still some New York stuff to show you. I was in New York for 2 more days to do all the tourist stuff. With Eileen, Lena and Toko I went to the ground zero, the financial district and the Staten Island ferry. With Mauri and Amandine I was on the Top of the Rocks and in a typical american steak-house, where you actually couldn’t find many vegetarian meals (oh wonder) – but the cheddar cheese grit was fantastic. I really had a great time!
PS: Lena also made a video, dancing and singing inclusive!

zurück zu New York: Einen Tag nach der Show haben sind wir ins Marc Jacobs Fragrance House gefahren. Dort konnten wir die neuen Parfums ausprobieren (Post folgt ;)), einen Rundgang durch die vielen Labore machen und den Arbeitsprozess zur Herstellung eines Parfums kennen lernen. Aber das Highlight: Wir konnten unser eigenes Parfum kreieren. Es ist so unglaublich schwer, das hätte ich vorher nie gedacht. Irgendwann war ich einfach ganz benebelt von den vielen Düften. Aber mein Lieblingsduft war auf jeden Fall Erdbeere. Mein Parfum bestand zu 50% auf Erdbeere und es roch so herrlich süß. ich stehe ja so auf süße, frische Düfte!

back to New york: The day after the show we went to the Marc Jacobs fragrance house. There we were able to try out the new Marc Jacobs perfumes (separate post later ;)), see the many laboratories and get to know the process to create a perfume. But the highlight was: We created our own perfumes! I never imagined how difficult it is to create a perfume. Eventually, I was just completely dazed by the many scents. But my favorite scent was definitely strawberry. My perfume was composed of 50% on strawberry and it smelled so deliciously sweet. I love sweet, fresh fragrances!
